Pre Primary

Research indicates that a child's brain undergoes its most significant development during the early formative years. At MCCPS we understand the importance of this stage, hence the curriculum emphasizes language development, mathematics, general knowledge, humanities, awareness, creative arts and crafts, and music, all aimed at nurturing a well-rounded and refined personality in each child from an early age.

In our Foundational Stage, encompassing Kindergarten to 2nd grade, we focus on laying a robust foundation for quality education. The program ensures that children develop essential literacy and numeracy skills through interactive and engaging activities.

The primary objective of the foundational stage in education is to develop foundational skills, foster a love for learning, and promote holistic development. The foundational stage emphasizes developing vital skills that create the building blocks of future learning. It involves acquiring numeracy skills, language and communication skills, motor skills, problem-solving competencies, and social-emotional competencies.

Abacus education is introduced to the students of Grades 1 & 2 to encourage and develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and enhance their mental calculation abilities. This hands-on approach fosters a deeper comprehension of mathematical principles that extends beyond rote memorization.

The foundational stage also seeks to encourage holistic development by cultivating all aspects of a child’s growth. This includes fostering social skills, cognitive development, emotional intelligence, physical well-being, and creativity. By addressing the variety of requirements of young learners, the foundational stage aims to build a rigid foundation for their prospective academic success and overall well-being.

Hence the objective at this stage is to:

  • Establish Core Competencies
  • Build a Strong Foundation and
  • Foster Developmental Milestones
