INDEPENDENCE DAY (15.08.2019)
“Who for their country die shall fill
an honoured grave,
For glory lights the soldier’s tomb,
And beauty weeps the brave”.
The Independence Day commemorates the brave people who gave up their lives to liberate India from the manacles of thralldom.
The celebration of the 73rd Independence Day in the MCC Public School flavored with patriotic fervor, zeal and zest made it a very unforgettable occasion. The whole ambience vibrated with the festivity, decorating the school premises in the flamboyant hues of tricolor- saffron, white and green.
To enshrine the sovereignty of our nation, the school Principal Mrs. Priscilla Sunder unfurled the national flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom.
The programme was anchored by Judah of grade 7. Ms. Asher Judah, the Head Boy of the school delivered a dynamic speech highlighting the significance of the day. He received special appreciation by our beloved Principal who said that one day he will rule the country and take it to the pinnacle of glory. This was followed by a Hindi poem recitation by Ms. Nithesh and Ms. Suresh of grade 6, portraying the greatness of our National Flag. Finally the girls of grade 5 & 6 performed a choreo stealing the show. At the end sweets were distributed to the students.
Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to express our love and respect for our country. Jai Hind.
